A Bit More Information About Us and Our Blog

Welcome to our blog, where we share detailed and relevant information about British culture and its influence in Hong Kong. If you don’t know us yet, allow us to introduce ourselves. We’re Mike and Jamie – two best friends born in London who decided to study at the University of Hong Kong. The years we’ve spent in this vibrant city have inspired us to start a blog and share our experiences and the knowledge we’ve gathered during that time.

Our Story

As mentioned, we’re both from London, but ever since we were teenagers, we shared a fascination with Chinese culture. That was one of the reasons why we made the major decision to study there and not in the UK. Although we had the opportunity to attend a number of universities in the UK, we thought it’d be much more exciting to visit the country of our dreams and study there.

Our first choice was, of course, the University of Hong Kong, the oldest university in the city. Both of us were accepted, and it was a dream come true. The vibrant city captured our hearts from the start, and we were absolutely positive that this was the best decision for us. Every day, we would take strolls through the city, exploring its hidden gems, architecture, culture, food, and everything else. Our practical experience has shown that many aspects of the region are influenced by Britain, which made us quite happy as it made us feel a bit closer to home.

Why Did We Decide to Start a Blog?

One of the main reasons we started our website is because we wanted to share our love for this city and highlight how much impact Britain has on it. There’s so much to discover – from cultural practices and everyday lifestyle habits to educational institutions. Our main objective is to share our experiences and insights with you and even inspire you to book a trip to the city.
